US home networks researcher Parks says that TV Everywhere will be available to some 81% of the US and Canadian population by the middle of this year. It says that pay TV operators are being more aggressive in pushing the products to consumers. The moves are all designed to stop people cutting the cord and moving to Netflix and Hulu Plus.

SeaChange International says that it has provided a multi-screen video on demand service to Turkey’s TTNet’s IPTV service owned by Turk Telekom called Tivibu Home, already available in 30 cities across Turkey. SeaChange was the systems integrator for Tivibu and the system offers 100 linear multicast channels, some HD, plus 3,100 hours of VoD. The system also offers 90 minutes of pause time for live TV.

According to Broadband TV News, doubts are growing about the future of the RCS&RDS satellite platform Digi TV within the Czech Republic. RCS&RDS has pay TV services in its home country of Romania and in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia. But it is up against quite intense satellite competition in the Czech Republic, with local players CS Link and Skylink not to mention cable from UPC and an IPTV service from the Telefonica owned incumbent telco. RCS is reported to be behind on channel payments and legal action has been taken by local movie suppliers.

According to Digital Music News the auction whereby Warner Music is selling itself is getting everyone hot under the collar. Bidders have left or threatened to leave negotiations because the rules seem to keep changing. A Russian billionaire is supposed to be in the driving seat in negotiations, but if the rules settle down Sony is thought to be ready to re-enter the bidding. Warner is understood to be struggling to get the value up to $3 billion.

Intertrust, the DRM specialist that holds lots of core DRM patents, has got its Marlin DRM system being offered as a hosted service through Hosted Marlin Services (HMS). It will offer service providers, network operators, and broadcasters a quick to market, with a low risk alternative to hosting their own Marlin servers. HMS charges per transaction fees with volume discounts. HMS is understood to be working with Philips NetTV and YouView. Philips is a 50% shareholder in Intertrust, along with Sony.

US cable equipment vendor Arris says that Shaw Communications, one of Canada’s largest pay TV players with 3.4 million subscribers, has launched the Arris Whole Home Solution in its Calgary system. Later it will go nationwide. It will be called the Shaw Gateway experience, offering multi-room DVR with six- tuners, and 500 GB of storage, its own router and MOCA 1.1home networking and optional WiFi 802.11n capabilities.

Hungary’s incumbent Telco, Magyar Telekom now owned by Deutsche Telekom has upped its pay TV homes to 751,000, with its IPTV T-Online service up 21,000 to 146,000 since last quarter, its DTH T-Home Sat up 25,000 for the quarter to 262,000, but its cable interests through T-Kabel, down 43,000 subs to 343,000
